ABOUT MYZAR

We are a socially conscious producer and seller of eco-friendly muslin swaddle blankets.

What differentiates our brand myzar from the other baby blanket brands is the commitment to a social conscience. Myzar’s commitment to social conscience appeals to the ‘global citizen’ who holds concern for ‘the humanity of others’.

For many parents, a newfound sense of legacy comes with the arrival of their newborns. They become motivated to choose brands that engage in making a difference. Myzar further differentiates itself from other brands through the use of African-inspired patterns which highlights our brand of creating awareness about children’s mortality in Africa and prevention strategies.

HOW MYZAR BEGAN

THE STORY BEHIND OUR BLANKETS

Myzar was founded by a pediatrician and a pharmacist (PharmD), who had a clear vision of improving children’s lives in underserved communities by empowering parents and caregivers.

The idea for Myzar was born when Nneka and Sue, new mothers themselves, were lamenting to each other about the lack of soft organic blankets on the market that were large enough for their long babies.

Nneka Mobisson

Pediatrician

Both Sue and Nneka were involved in efforts to improve the quality of healthcare, and wanted these blankets to improve the quality of life of children, moms and caregivers across the globe. They learned that in some communities, mothers were choosing not to deliver in skilled birthing facilities because they could not afford a blanket to wrap their babies in to come home.

MYZAR IS FOR OTHERS

THE IMPULSE TO FACILITATE LONG LASTING CHANGE AND MEASURABLE IMPACT

The founders’ work in healthcare exposed them to the burden of neonatal mortality in low and middle income countries and communities and so they decided to ensure that with each blanket purchase, a blanket with illustrated designs, culled from the efforts of organizations such as the World Health Organization, would be given to a pregnant mother.

These blankets which are soft enough to wrap newborn babies, at the same time are a tool to educate all those involved in the care of the baby during her/his most critical survival period.

They decided to name Myzar after their daughters Mayen and Zara.
